The first of several engagement sessions we have been working on in no particular order! Margie’s Mom was sweet enough to remember us from a wedding we did awhile back and recommended us! A quick meeting at the Los Angeles Central Market and we were sold and in love with this couple! I particularly love the colors and happiness that seem everywhere in this shoot! Enjoy!

I’ll try to be more diligent in my postings as we return with this wonderful wedding! We have so many cool things to show you, but it seems like I’m fighting a losing battle with time. How is it already July? Hope everyone is staying cool and enjoying the warm weather. I promise it will not be Halloween the next time we post!
Giving Back
For the past few years I have been teaching a introductory photography class to GATE students at Zoe’s school. It’s a way of introducing photography to students, but it’s also a way I can give back to my community. The kids enjoy the program tremendously and I try to teach the technical aspects as well as how to tap into their creative energy and how they can pursue a career in photography. This semester I added a class to demonstrate how to take environmental portraits. During this exercise the students helped find the perfect light, backgrounds and chose the styling for their peers based on their personalities! We wrapped the class up with a Pizza party and we hopefully will add a post processing class after spring break! Their photos will be displayed at an upcoming school event, but here are a few faces of my students!
The Knot Weddings
One of Marlene’s excellent detail shots is currently featured in the Spring/Summer issue of The Knot Weddings//the photo accompanies an article exploring historic venues in which to host your wedding//The image is from Katie and Jason’s gorgeous wedding at the Marvimon//Florals were designed by the ridiculously talented Kate Holt of Flowerwild Events and Weddings//
Jessie & Patrick
//Marlene and I rang in the New Year at Jessie and Patrick’s gorgeous wedding!//Held at the Mountain Mermaid, it was an intimate, cozy gathering of family and friends to celebrate Jessie and Patrick’s wedding!//Our good friend Tom Chandler of California Sounds provided entertainment for the night//It’s always a pleasure to work with Tom and JoAnn//December 31, 2010//Topanga Canyon CA//

We spent an afternoon with Marlene’s best friend and her fiance doing the things they like to do//Jeret and I will be documenting the wedding since Marlene will be too busy as the Matron of Honor//Huntington Beach CA//
The Christmas Card that Never Was
Anyone that visits our home is immediately shocked at the lack of photos on the wall! It’s not that we don’t document our family, it’s just we get so busy with other people’s photos that we tend to neglect our family memories! This year we did some photos for our friends Yvett and Eric of SoCal Dj’s. Eric has a great eye and offered to take some photos of us during the session! Naturally we decided to do some Christmas cards with the photos, unfortunately due to the holiday craziness and a cold that got all of us, the cards never came to fruition. Marlene is now threatening to send them out as Valentine’s Day cards. So here are some of our favorites along with a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! We promise to have more photos up in the house the next time you come over!
